Are Pod Mods the Future??
Pod mods are some of the newest vape technology on the market. They are compact and stealthy, easy to use, and convenient to transport. Some might say that pod mods are the future of vaping. But what is it about them that makes them so special??
Almost all pod mods feature 50mg nicotine salts, a highly concentrated, fast-absorbing nicotine with minimal throat hit. These little devices deliver a powerful hit of nicotine in a quick and efficient manner. Most pod mods are draw-activated, though some feature a firing button.
When it comes to quitting traditional tobacco cigarettes, pod vapes are similar in the fact that they are small and lightweight, sometimes making them an easier switch for tobacco smokers in comparison to the bulky heavier, box mod vapes. Due to their size, they feature smaller batteries they usually range between 100mAh to 900mAh.
Open system versus closed system
Most pod mods feature closed systems, ones in which you buy pre-filled replacement pods that cannot be opened. However, some pod mods are able to be opened and refilled. The pod refills themselves are small and more convenient (and much less messy) than carrying around a leaky juice bottle.
For many years open system vapes, devices you open and refill yourself, ruled the market. Cigalikes (which are small, closed system devices that resemble the size, shape, and feel of tobacco cigarettes) were the original closed system device and many vapers had little success with them. The creation of these new pod mods has opened the door for a new generation of lightweight devices that deliver.
There are many pod vapes on the market, but here are the three that vapers everywhere can’t stop talking about.
JUUL was an early popular choice for closed system pod mods. Finally, there was a small, draw activated vape that actually satisfied! JUUL pod mods were (and still are!) popping up in vape shops and convenience stores everywhere. At a time where legislation debated what would happen to the future open system devices, JUUL rose from the ashes.
The basic JUUL kit comes with one rechargeable JUUL device and a USB charger (and a one-year limited warranty). JUUL pods come in eight flavors…your choice between mango, cool mint, Virginia tobacco, cool cucumber, classic menthol, fruit medley, creme brulee and classic tobacco. On their website, JUUL lists their pods as equivalent to about 200 puffs.
Phix by Major League Vapers
The Phix by Major League Vapers is a well renowned closed system vape. It comes with a 280mAh built-in battery and can fire a max output of 3.7 volts. The 1.5ml tank pods come with a 1.5ohm resistance patient ceramic coil and deliver exceptional taste throughout the lifespan of your coil.
Each battery charge cycle provides about 220 puffs and each pod delivers about 440 puffs. Phix pods come in six flavors. You can choose between spearmint, cool melon, ice tobacco, original tobacco, strawberry, and butterscotch. You can also purchase pods in a variety flavor pack.
Suorin has three different style pod mods with refillable pods; the Suorin Air, the Suorin Drop, and the Suorin iShare. Each Suorin model comes in a wide variety of colors which is something that sure sets Suorin apart from its competitors. Suorin has been making quite the name for themselves in the world of vape.
The Suorin Air is a sturdy, compact device that comes with a 400mAh built-in battery. It also features a battery life indicator and a master on/off switch. The air has a max pod fill of 2ml. The pods come with a 1.2ohm resistance coil.
The Suorin Drop is the newest and smallest of the Suorin family. With a curved body that’s fits well in your hand, no vape has been easier than the Drop to conceal in your hand. The Drop comes with a 310mAh build-in battery with a max output of 13watts. Its pod features a 2ml tank with a 1.2ohm resistance coil.
The iShare kit comes with a portable battery bank (1400 mAh battery capacity!!) that can hold two devices to ensure you never run out of vape power! The devices themselves come with a 130mAh built-in battery. The iShare pods have a 0.9ml capacity and a 2.0ohm resistance coil.
The future looks compact
The is a wide array of pod mod style vapes on the market. However, they are not all created equal as it seems some pod mods work better than others. Many new vapers seem to be more than satisfied with JUUL, Sourin, & Phix.
Some have commented that the level of nicotine in enclosed pod mods may be too high. Many vapers who are accustomed to low nicotine levels, such as 1.5mg or 3mg, and the jump to 50mg could be a shock to the system if over consumed. What do you think?? Let us know in the comments!
